NEW HOPE FOR THE ICONIC CARNABY’S BLACK COCKATOO

Recovery actions across twelve private properties located in the South Coast region have been successful in boosting the population of endangered Carnaby’s black cockatoo.

IMPROVEMENTS FLOWING ON YAKAMIA CREEK

In an exciting first for the region, South Coast NRM and the City of Albany are partnering with Minderoo Foundation, the South Coast Environment Fund, and the State Governments Healthy Estuaries program to repair a highly degraded, culturally significant section of Yakamia Creek.

REGIONAL LAND PARTNERSHIPS

Through a Regional Land Partnerships (RLP) investment of $11.8 million over five years from July 2018 to June 2023, South Coast NRM, together with 15 key delivery partners, are delivering on national priorities at a regional and local level.

SOUTH COAST ENVIRO-EXPERIENCES

South Coast Enviro-Experiences, supported by Lotterywest, is a new project set to be delivered by South Coast NRM. It will focus on increasing capacity of organisations relying on volunteers, for both on-ground work, but also group governance, and will promote a suite of environmental volunteering opportunities over the next 18 months.
