In a win for the environment, the Australian Parliament has now passed the Nature Repair Bill 2023. The Bill establishes a framework for a world-first national, voluntary, legislated Nature Repair Market. The Nature Repair Bill aims to address the significant funding gap for nature in Australia, by stimulating private investment in biodiversity conservation and restoration. The framework will enable private finance to help to repair and protect our unique natural environment and will enable landholders to apply for biodiversity certificates for projects that protect and restore nature.
