Our Salty Summer Beach Investigations held across January in Albany were a huge success! The activities were part of the Birak season of South Coast Enviro Experiences, a new project for South Coast NRM focusing on environmental volunteering.

Our marine facilitators, Sheryn Prior and Liz Tanner, took the helm and led the wave of eager children and their families to the sand to do some exploring. With buckets in hand, loads of enthusiasm and excellent team-work, the enthusiastic group found some amazing treasures including shells, seaweed and even sea snail eggs, as Sheryn & Liz engaged the crew with their fascinating facts.

The kids enjoyed making plaster casts of their shells to take home with them, before returning their collections back to the beach.

The activities were such a great opportunity for kids to engage and learn about our beautiful coastal environment. Thank you to all that volunteered for these fabulous events.
