What a treat!
Anne Bondin of Albany Bird Group recently took a group of keen volunteers on a guided bird identification walk around Lake Seppings (Tjuirtgellong) as part of our #enviroexperiences Salty Summers activity program.
Lake Seppings is a beautiful refuge and sanctuary for the most amazing birdlife and our very enthusiastic group were treated to the identification of a huge number of birds, including black cormorants, Australian reed warblers, the Eurasian coot, the common bronzewing, tree martins, ducks, pelicans and we even got to see the odd king skink.
The children were provided with a bird checklist to keep them busy, and we all had a very enjoyable walk, identifying birds and listening to different bird calls.
Thank you to Anne for allowing South Coast NRM to sponsor the walk, to our volunteer, Paula, and to those that joined us. If you are interested in joining future bird walks, keep an eye on the Albany Bird Group Facebook page.
