Disadvantaged youth in the Great Southern will get some added support with the announcement of the Quick Grants initiative from Youth Great Southern.
Applications open tomorrow for grants ranging from $10,000 – $20,000 for projects which support and empower those aged 12 – 25 in the Great Southern and focussing on the areas such as crisis, education, mental health, employment and homelessness.
Youth Great Southern Board Chair Ricky Burges said a lot of work has been happening behind the scenes over the last year to make Youth Great Southern happen and to create the Quick Grants.
“This is a wonderful opportunity and we are excited to be able to contribute to something so important and so urgently needed,” she says. “Now Quick Grants will enable some funding opportunities while the group continues to work on its next major project.
“We’re encouraging individuals, not for profit groups, local councils and sports clubs and associations to apply for these grants as a way to support and work more closely with at-risk youth in their area.”
Formerly the Tony Elwood Trust but renamed Youth Great Southern, the group is now a company limited by guarantee which is mandated to create opportunities to support and assist disadvantaged youth in the region.
Youth Great Southern is keen to help make your idea or project a reality. If you have an idea or project which could do with a Quick Grant, contact Jane Hare on 0418 418 639 for an application pack and a discussion about your plans.
Applications for Youth Great Southern’s Quick Grants open Friday, 25 March and close at 5pm on Friday, 29 April 2022.
