welcome to the team Emma.

South Coast NRM welcomes Emma Sommerville to the team!

Emma has recently returned to Western Australia from Hobart and has joined South Coast NRM as the Project Coordinator for the Climate-Resilient Conservation of Urban Western Ringtail Possum Populations project. Within this project, Emma will contribute to conservation efforts supporting the critically endangered Western ringtail possum in urban Albany. This will include facilitating community-led conservation through awareness raising activities, wildlife-friendly gardening actions and other strategic on-ground initiatives.

Emma has a background in marine science and extensive skills and expertise in project management, having worked across various small and large scale projects in the environmental consulting and university sectors. Her most recent role was as the Operations Manager of the Integrated Marine Observing System, based at the University of Tasmania. We are very excited that Emma has joined the team!

The Urban Western Ringtail Possum project is a collaboration between South Coast NRM, Oyster Harbour Catchment Group Inc., Torbay Catchment Group, UWA Albany Campus, The City of Albany and Southern Aboriginal Corporation, supported by South Coast NRM through funding from the Australian Government Saving Native Species Program.
