Weed incursion into native vegetation triggers changes that make further weed invasion more likely. Control of all weeds present in the roadside environment is impractical, but some weeds are more likely than others to initiate this feedback loop of decline.

The Roadside Conservation Committee has collaborated with key experts to produce Verge Notes, a list of weeds with a particularly high impact on roadside vegetation.

Verge Notes will assist road managers to prioritise weeds for control and minimise development of larger weed problems on local government and other tenure.

Verge Notes also covers some general road maintenance principles to minimise the impact of weeds on roadside vegetation.
