Coast and Marine: In Motion video competition invites entrants to explore the topic of coastal and marine sustainability in the South Coast region.

Participants of any age are welcome to submit a 90 second video that focuses on an aspect of caring for the coastal and marine environment.

Sheryn Prior, Southern Shores Project Officer, said the competition had broad scope.

“Activities like community group planting days, individuals picking up litter from beaches, and responsible recreation like preparing your vehicle for 4wding in coastal reserves or enjoying marine resources in a sustainable way could all be covered,” she said.

Lawrence Cuthbert, Chairman of the Albany Maritime Foundation, said video would be a great medium for people to document their own values of coastal and marine sustainability.

“The AMF is excited by the addition of this event to our Festival of the Sea, celebrating and respecting our rich maritime heritage and environment”, he said.

Coast and Marine: In Motion is a sister competition to the Landcare: in Motion video competition.

Participant have one month to get their videos ready. Entries close by 5pm Wednesday 9th March 2016.

Competition entry form and conditions are available on the Environmental Education page of the South Coast NRM website.
