After four seasons of water sampling and lots of data management, we are very excited to launch the Stokes Inlet Water Quality Sampling Technical Report!
Stokes Inlet, located 80km west of Esperance, has immense social, cultural, and environmental values. Water quality is heavily influenced by adjoining land use and more than 70% of the inlets’ catchment has been cleared.
As part of the Stokes Inlet project, supported by legacy funds from the Esperance Regional Forum, water quality sampling was carried out between June 2020 and April 2021. You can check out the results on the South Coast NRM website:
Overall, the 2020 – 2021 sample round suggests that Stokes Inlet has remained at a similar degree of health to historic sampling rounds, with no immediate threats to the ongoing condition of the inlet.
