Regional Community Natural Capital Program

South Coast NRM is pioneering Western Australia’s first regional natural capital initiative, aiming to develop scalable, repeatable models that demonstrate how regional stewardship can create a global impact.

About the Project

The South Coast of Western Australia is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, but the region faces multiple pressures and risks to its natural environment that need to be addressed at a regional level. Given the scale of the landscapes at risk, the diversity of land holders and industries across the region, and the need for consistent long-term funding, a new and innovative approach is required to effectively protect and uplift the value nature provides to the South Coast region.
