Spend a winters morning with South Coast NRM and the growers behind the Subsurface Drainage Return on Investment trial, an investment by the Grains Research and Development Corporation.
Join us in the Neridup trial paddock, to observe subsurface drainage in action. With back-to-back years of high rainfall, we know many growers across the region are feeling the impact of waterlogging. We’re hoping this trial will help growers and advisors to make more informed management decisions to address this issue, supporting our landscapes to be more productive, and healthy.
The Neridup paddock has been no exception to the rain, the drains are full, and the crops are out. It’s the perfect opportunity to visualise the impact of subsurface drainage on waterlogged paddocks. Plus hear from experts in the trial, including the drainage contractor on install factors, and the trial’s economist who will be sharing preliminary return on investment figures. And to top it all off, grab a hot coffee and a jaffle from the amazing team at Beach N Bitez, who will be onsite, to keep us warm and caffeinated.
Brekky is on Friday 4th August, starting 7:30am at the Fels property on Fisheries Road (approximately 4km north of the Savage Road intersection, look for the signs). For further details on the trial, it’s aims and progress, visiting the Southern Soils website www.southernsoils.com.au
