Restoring Lake Pleasant View Project Officer

Position Location – Albany Office

Contract Term  – 31 August 2020 to 30 June 2023

Employment Status – Part time 0.6 FTE

Salary –Level 3.1 $ 42,621 gross per annum pro rata for FTE

About the role

South Coast Natural Resource Management Inc is seeking an experienced and dynamic person to deliver a new project to protect and restore the Aboriginal owned Lake Pleasant View property with substantial cultural heritage and biodiversity values. The project officer is responsible for delivering this 3-year project in partnership with the Albany Heritage Reference Group Aboriginal Corporation and community stakeholders. The project officer will plan and coordinate the delivery of on ground works for the recovery of endangered animals and protection of cultural heritage along with installing infrastructure for the Aboriginal and wider community to visit and enjoy the property. This role is recruited on merit, however we have a preference to employ people of Aboriginal descent for the role.

Strong & Proud Coordinator – Tambellup

Position Location – Shire of Tambellup

Contract Term  – August 2020 to 30 June 2021

Employment Status – Part time 0.2 FTE (1 day per week)

Salary – PSGA Level 3.1 $14,207.06 gross per annum pro rata for FTE

About the role

South Coast Natural Resource Management Inc is seeking an experienced and dynamic person to coordinate a new Strong & Proud after school program for Aboriginal Youth in Tambellup. The coordinator is responsible for planning, promoting, delivering and monitoring 20 after school activities and 2 camps with the assistance of Aboriginal mentors and community activity leaders. This Strong & Proud after school program engages Aboriginal youth (12 to 17 year old) in environmental, cultural, and outdoor recreation activities in partnership with local groups to connect them to their culture and country.  Its aim is to build self-esteem, identity, cultural awareness, community connection, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle benefits, as well as improved school attendance.
