The coastal and marine environment of the South Coast NRM Region is spectacular and diverse, encompassing the land and coastal zone to three nautical miles offshore.
The coastline is over 1000 km and alternates between sandy beaches, granite headlands, limestone cliffs, vegetated coastal dunes and coastal wetlands and inlets, and includes over 500 offshore islands, shoals and bombies.
South Coast NRM facilitates important community-initiated coastal activities, scientific research and monitoring to make sure we enhance and protect the coastal zone for future generations.
