The conference is being hosted by South Coast NRM, the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECCI), the Shire of Esperance, the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission and Esperance Regional Forum.

ECCI CEO Grant Shipp said the program had been drafted and an exciting range of speakers would be presenting.

“The program is full of high quality speakers and experts in their fields,” Mr Shipp said.

“We have secured Professor Lyn Beazley, WA’s chief scientist to be the conference’s opening keynote and have also secured national keynote speakers Professor Barbara Norman, from the University of Canberra, Dr Gina Newton from the Department of Environment and professor Geoff Westcott from Deakin University.”

Presentations will focus on three key themes; Research, Planning and Management for our Coasts, Adapting to the Changing Coasts and Communities and Our Coasts.

The conference will include a day of sightseeing tours, taking in the beautiful surrounding environments of Esperance, and a cocktail function, during which the WA Coastal Excellence Awards ceremony will be performed.
