JACQUI and her husband have run a small beef cattle operation in Denbarker for the past seven years and focus on managing the farm according to organic and biodynamic principles. They enjoy the challenge of the journey they are on in an effort to work with nature to run the farm.
Jacqui is a member of the Rotary Club of Mount Barker, which participates in an annual program of revegetation projects within the region. The club also runs an international project to help supply improved access to water and sanitation at a primary school in Tanzania which Jacqui visited in 2011.
An educator for the past 18 years, Jacqui is currently deputy principal at Mount Barker Community College - the only government K-12 campus with a working farm attached to it. Jacqui is passionate about her students being active participants in their community and taking care of their local environment.
Every college student participates in revegetation annually by linking to existing school farm, Rotary and Wilson Inlet Catchment Committee programs.
Jacqui enjoys bringing groups together and creating the synergy that comes from like-minded people working in unison towards a common goal.
