Community landcare in the eastern Fitzgerald Biosphere 2011 - 2013Project Completed before: June 30, 2013
The project will enable RAIN to work with the community to improve landscape connectivity in a productive farming environment with a focus on improving native vegetation condition. It will improve ecological connectivity by building on existing native vegetation and establishing new links informed by regional planning documents.
The project will apply conservation practices on five properties over 95 ha. The properties have shared biodiversity assets such as remnant and riparian vegetation, wetlands and river systems. Bridal creeper will be controlled over 70 ha and a further 150 ha monitored as follow up to previous investment.
