Community groups and landcare are the big winners across the south coast with thirteen small grants awarded in the latest round of the Regional Landcare Facilitator (RLF) Community Small Grants, totalling $6,500.
The South Coast communities’ collaborative approach to protecting and restoring their unique plants and animals and farming land has been endorsed by the Federal Government and supported with almost $75,000 to advance a key local strategy.
Cattle producers on the south coast need to be aware of the recent changes to the Johne’s Beef Assurance Score (J-BAS) biosecurity rating system, for the management of Johne’s Disease. Johne’s (pronounced “Yo-nees”) is a serious wasting disease, caused by an infectious bacteria, that affects cattle and other ruminants and primarily in the intestinal tract.
