Cattle producers on the south coast need to be aware of the recent changes to the Johne’s Beef Assurance Score (J-BAS) biosecurity rating system, for the management of Johne’s Disease. Johne’s (pronounced “Yo-nees”) is a serious wasting disease, caused by an infectious bacteria, that affects cattle and other ruminants and primarily in the intestinal tract.

South Coast Natural Resource Management is excited to announce that it is running its final Regional Landcare Facilitators’ Community Small Grant Programme for 2017 thanks to funding by the National Landcare Programme.
This programme aims to help community groups get involved in Landcare by providing funds of up to $500 (ex GST) that can go towards the cost of running an event or project that benefits the community and the environment.
