Restoring connectivity in the Fitzgerald Biosphere

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

This project will enable the Fitzgerald Biosphere Group to work with the community to improve landscape connectivity in a productive farming environment with a focus on improving native vegetation linkage. It will improve ecological connectivity by complementing existing remnant vegetation and establishing new linkages informed by regional planning documents.

Risk assessment of prioritised remnant vegetation of Balijup property in the Forest to Stirlings Link, Wildlife Corridors Reconnected Country program

Dieback assessment is required for remnant vegetation of “Balijup” property as part of the Forest to Stirlings Link Reconnected Country program.

Southern Incentives devolved grants

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

This project will use Southern Incentives Devolved Grants to engage local stakeholders to undertake on-ground works. It will contribute to the ongoing conservation and protection of biodiversity by funding projects that extend and /or improve the condition of native vegetation. Assessment of grants will favour fencing and revegetation to protect larger tracts of remnant woodland.

Southern Shores

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

Increasing Coastal Community Engagement Implementation Southern Shores Regional Coastal Strategy. Delivery of community projects through the Southern Incentives/Southern Shores Coastal Devolved Grant. Activities will cover the increased target timeframe to June 2013. Project will be managed by the Southern Shores Project Coordinator with engagement of the Cultural Officers & Traditional Owners & Elders in on ground works & capacity building activities through links with the Cultural Connections Program.

Southern Shores - Southern Incentives

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

The Southern Shores/Southern Incentives coastal devolved grant will increase the delivery of the incentives for on-ground work in coastal, water and marine environs. It will implement works in a strategic and coordinated manner across the region. The grant will utilise best practice techniques with sound technical planning supported by the project officer, who will coordinate program and steering group, support MERI, community engagement and provide technical input.

Southern Weeds handbook - third edition

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

To review and update the Southern weeds second edition to include the new WONS/environmental weeds and best practice updates and print 30 copies of the Southern weeds 3rd edition by February 2013.

Torbay Catchment Project Officer - Rivercare

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

The targets that will be addressed will be improving management practices (soil acidity/carbon) and improving knowledge and skills of land managers.

Wild dog control in the Shire of Esperance

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

The Project will control and manage wild dog populations that will assist in alleviating ongoing pressures on economic, environmental and social values of the region through increased protection of biodiversity and the 900,000 hectare livestock industry.

Wild dog control in the Shire of Ravensthorpe

Project Completed before: June 30, 2013

This project will deliver on ground works that will reduce the impact of vertebrate pest animals (specifically wild dogs) to maintain or improve biodiversity and agricultural enterprises.
